Kendyktyube Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Along the Kendyktube section, Bukantau Mountains, Central Kyzylkum.
I.M. Abdazimova, 1988 (24, p.66), used the name proposed by E.M. Shmariovich et al. (322; 446) for the Kendyktube Mountains. Stratotype in the Kendyktube section area, parastratotype in the Lau-lau Mountains (24).
Synonym: Kendyktyube Suite, Kendyktobin Fm, Кендыктобинская св.
Lithology and Thickness
In the upper part - greenish-gray, tobacco-green clays with siltstone (aleurolite) and sandstone. In the lower part - red mottled sandstones, clays, siltstone (aleurolites). Thickness 10-200m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Unconformably overlies the Dzhayrantuy Fm and transgressively overlies the Paleozoic
Upper contact
Unconformably overlain by the Bissektin Fm in Bukantau; Kynyr-Cret Fm - in Tamdytau; Laulau Fm - in Kuldyktau and Auminzatau; Tohumbet Fm - in the Nurata Mountains.
Regional extent
Central Kyzylkum, foothills of Kuldyktau, Auminzatau, Bukantau, Tamdytau, Muruntau, Kazakhtau; Nurata Mountains. Correlated with the Dasgirak Fm of Southwestern Gissar.

Fossils
Upper part – Containing foraminifera, spores, and pollen.
Lower part – Contains marine bivalve mollusks - Liostrea ljangarensis Vinok., L. jaxartensis Sim.; foraminifera - Paragaudryina babaevi Suleim., Gaudryinella pseudoasiatica antiqua Suleim.
